How to Backup QVR Pro Recordings

Introduction


  • If you use Recording Backup in QVR Pro Server. you can Backup to other NAS and you can set up the Backup schedule
  • When the destination space is full. you can select to Stop backup or delete the oldest recording data 
Before you start

ensure that you have selected “Use Recording File Explorer to access recordings”
in recording File Explorer page

  • ensure that you disable Recycle bin for the export folder
  • ensure that the version is QVR Pro 1.3.0(or later)

Setting

  1. Open QVR Pro > Recordings Management.
  1. Click the Recording Backup tab > Create Task.
  1. Fill in the information:
  1. Task name
  2. IP address: Entry NAS IP
  3. Username: Entry NAS username
  4. Password: Entry NAS password
  5. Path: path to the directory in which you’d like to store your backup recordings.
For example :  QVRProRecordoing/backup
Note : ensure that directory must be exist.
  1. Click “Test” to see if connection to the folder has no problems.
  2. Click “Next”.




  1. Configure settings on this page, then click “Finish”.

  • Note: you can only import QVI format recordings, so it is suggested to backup QVI format if you are planning to import the backup recordings in the future.
  • Note: you can set the schedule backup at this step.

How to Set Minimum or Maximum Number of Recording Days In this tutorial, we will be setting the minimum number of recording days to 2 days, and leave the maximum number of days undefined (default). In  QVR Pro , open  Recording Storage . Navigate into the  Recording Location and Days  tab, then click on the  Edit icon  under the desired camera. Under  Channel setting , select  Use custom settings  and set  Days  to  At Least 2 Days , then finally hit  Apply .
