QNAP Responds to Vulnerability Reports in Hikvision Cameras and Provides Recommendations to QNAP QVR Pro and QVR Elite Users Taipei, Taiwan, September 2, 2022 – After a thorough investigation and verification process, QNAP® Systems, Inc. (QNAP) today addressed vulnerability CVE-2021-36260 of Hikvision cameras and provides the following recommendations to QVR Pro and QVR Elite users who may be potentially affected. According to the security advisory by Hikvision , if these cameras are installed in the same LAN network, and this network cannot be accessed externally, attackers will NOT be able to exploit this vulnerability. Although this vulnerability does not directly influence QNAP surveillance products, it is highly recommended to update the firmware of the cameras listed in the advisory to reduce the possibility of being exposed to potential risks.
